Niles Band Script Niles History.
Contributed by: Chad Reis
In 1964 Mr. Charles Rayburn took over
as our band director. Having studied and taught at The Ohio
State University, he had the idea to bring one of their honored
traditions to Niles and make it ours.
Our version, of course, is Script Niles–which
has been performed now for 60 consecutive years (as of 2024).
Tonight we will experience history and see and hear the 2016
year of Script Niles.
We thank ALL directors, past and present, who
have contributed to this awesome Niles tradition. We brought
Mr. Rayburn, Mr. Dennis Moore, and Mrs. Carla Dean
to the performance. And honored them in the end zone next to
the band shell.
In this video, you can see Mr. Rayburn on the
sidelines as we Scripted
