The
East Federal Street Bridge was opened in November 1950. It replaced
the old iron bridge that was erected in 1904-1905.
This bridge had originally been on
Robbins Avenue, but was moved to East Federal when a new bridge
was constructed on Robbins Avenue in 1904.
The old iron bridge was the first
bridge over Mosquito Creek on East Federal Street. |

In 1904 a new bridge was constructed
over Mosquito Creek on Robbins Avenue.
The old bridge, the one pictured above,
was moved to East Federal Street.
The old-timer had a five ton limit
and a foot walk on the north side...It's the last picture just before
the dismantling of the old bridge and the start of the new bridge
last spring.
In 1950 a new span replaced the old
bridge. |
